Before you start

• The app is not code-signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen may say that it protected your PC. Click More info, then Run anyway. If you like, check the file’s SHA-256 checksum first (below).
• This is a beta, and your settings and saved servers may not carry over to later versions. Before updating, back up your data folder (%APPDATA%\OwlAttic\Terminal on Windows, ~/Library/Application Support/OwlAttic/Terminal on macOS or ~/.config/owlattic/terminal on Linux, unless you chose another), and keep your own copy of passwords and private keys.
• Extension panels and web pages inside the app use Microsoft Edge WebView2, which comes with Windows 11 and is already on most Windows 10 PCs. If one does not open, install the WebView2 Runtime from Microsoft.
• On macOS, unzip the file, drag OwlAttic Terminal into Applications and open it. It is not signed by Apple yet, so the first time, macOS says it cannot check it for malicious software: close the message, open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down to the message about OwlAttic Terminal, click Open Anyway and confirm. On macOS 15 and later, the first time you connect to a server on your local network, macOS asks whether OwlAttic Terminal may connect to devices there: allow it, then press Enter in the tab to connect again. For now, web pages open in your browser and extension panels are not shown inside the app.
• On Linux, unpack the archive and run ./owlattic-terminal. It needs a graphics driver with Vulkan (Mesa for Intel and AMD, the NVIDIA driver for NVIDIA). For now, web pages open in your browser and extension panels are not shown inside the app.
